Russell Wilson may be leading the Denver Broncos now, but it’s hard to forget the ten seasons the QB enjoyed with the Seattle Seahawks, where he won a Super Bowl, the first and only in team history. Now, Wilson’s looking to repeat that effort in Denver, but his time with the Broncos has been nowhere near as successful as his time with the Seahawks.
It’s easy to pile on Wilson now that he’s a part of a team that didn’t make the playoffs last season and appears set to miss the postseason once again after a 1-3 start. Typically, criticism comes from members of the media or fans. Not usually from former teammates, especially ones who won a Lombardi Trophy together.
But that’s not the case here, where retired Seahawks legend Marshawn Lynch chimed in on Wilson’s time with the Seahawks as a reason why he may not be connecting with his current Broncos teammates too.
Here’s what Lynch had to say about his former QB during his latest Club Shay Shay podcast;
“I wouldn’t be the right person to speak on their relationship because I didn’t f–k with them. … I didn’t f–k with Pete, and then I mean Russ was just a quarterback for me. I respect Russell as a player and as a teammate. Anything that I say is gonna come off as malice or as if I’m a hater. … I’ll take Russell, and I’ll put him right there at quarterback, and I’ll rock with him, because I have done that. But as far as anything else… No, there’s no, you can’t pick up the phone and call ol’ boy or nothing.”

Lynch later said that he didn’t even have Wilson’s phone number, despite being teammates for five seasons. However, he did say he once got a call from a blocked number, yet Lynch decided to answer and realized it was Wilson on the line. Yet, he also noted that the conversation didn’t exactly go well.
