Now that rosters are mostly set, we’re starting to get a clearer picture of the difference between Super Bowl contenders and pretenders. Boasting the NFL’s reigning MVP, the Los Angeles Rams clearly fall into the former category of teams destined to reach the postseason again in 2026.
The question is, do the Rams have everything they need to get over the hump after falling just short in the NFC Conference Championship?
One area some predicted the Rams to address early in the 2026 NFL Draft was the wide receiver position after Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. After using the 13th overall pick on quarterback Ty Simpson, the Rams waited until the sixth round to select a wide receiver.
While the Rams didn’t do much to find a pass-catcher expected to make an immediate impact, that could change. There are still several potential gamechanging receivers available in free agency.
Recently, Sports Illustrated‘s Albert Breer suggested that the Rams may even be a fit for Stefon Diggs, who has yet to find a home for 2026.
“I think Diggs will probably be somewhere in that one-year, $10 million range. The Chiefs could make sense. The Commanders might, too, since Diggs is from D.C. The Falcons and Rams would also be interesting landing spots.”

Diggs is now 32 years old, but the former All-Pro still recorded 1,017 receiving yards and four touchdowns across 17 starts with the New England Patriots last season. It was the seventh time Diggs recorded 1,000 yards in his 11-year career.
With both Nacua and Adams heading into the final year of their contracts, Diggs would be the perfect one-year solution to complement both playmakers. But would he want to be the third wheel for a team that has leaned more toward sets utilizing three tight ends rather than three receivers?
