Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker was extremely smart on his team’s first offensive play of the game Monday night against the New York Giants.

After Seattle’s defense forced a Giants turnover on downs to open the game, its offense took over at the 27-yard line. Geno Smith handed it off to Walker on the first offensive play for the Seahawks.

What followed was absolute insanity in Jersey. Giants linebacker Bobby Okereke seemingly tackled Walker behind the line of scrimmage. However, officials never blew the whistle.

As Walker and his Seahawks joined the Giants standing around on the field inside MetLife Stadium, the whistle still didn’t blow. That’s when the former Heisman finalist opted to run for the end zone. Check it out.

Officials on hand in Jersey initially called this a 73-yard touchdown before going to the review team to check it out one more time. After a lengthy delay, they ruled that Walker was down by contact two yards behind the line of scrimmage.

There is certainly a debate about whether that was actually the case. It’s hard to tell on any of the reviews whether this was the case. Though, officials originally called it a touchdown.

Either way, Kenneth Walker was ultimately stopped for a loss according to the official record. The Seahawks then had to punt the ball back to New York.

Fun times on Monday Night Football.
