The Baltimore Ravens have brought back ex-Navy quarterback Keenan Reynolds to be a member of the practice squad. He was cut from the roster last week but went unclaimed on waivers, allowing the Ravens to bring him back.

Best known for his prolific scoring while playing football for Navy, Reynolds was selected in the sixth round during the 2016 NFL Draft.

Extremely undersized as an NFL quarterback, he was instead converted to a wide receiver. The Ravens hoped he might make an impact on special teams as a return man as well.

Not surprisingly, Reynolds struggled to adapt his game in such a short period of time. He only made one catch for two yards this preseason.

Bringing him back to join the practice squad shows the Ravens still hold out hope he’ll develop into an NFL-caliber slot receiver.

There is the added benefit that the ex-quarterback might be able to help the team prepare for mobile quarterbacks during the weeks the Ravens will take on dual-threat passers.
