According to the MGM sports book in Las Vegas, the Indianapolis Colts current listing of 5/1 makes them favorites to win Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara next February.

The signings of veteran wide receiver Andre Johnson and running back Frank Gore has to be two of the primary reasons for the Colts standing among Vegas sports books. The Colts’ offense, which ranked third in the NFL in total yards and averaged 28.6 points per game last season, should be even further boosted with the additions of Gore and Johnson.

The additions of Kendall Langford, Trent Cole and Toddy Herremans should help Indianapolis on both sides of the ball.

Prior to the free agency period, the Colts’ Super Bowl odds for this year were sitting at 10/1.

Here’s a look at the entire set of odds for all 32 NFL teams. As we can see, the two teams from Super Bowl XLIX follow right in the huddle below Indianapolis. Take note of the Dallas Cowboys at 8/1.

Indianapolis Colts 5/1
Seattle Seahawks 11/2
New England Patriots 6/1
Green Bay Packers 6/1
Dallas Cowboys 8/1
Denver Broncos 12/1
Philadelphia Eagles 20/1
Pittsburgh Steelers 20/1
Arizona Cardinals 25/1
Baltimore Ravens 25/1
New York Giants 25/1
Cincinnati Bengals 33/1
Detroit Lions 33/1
Miami Dolphins 33/1
New Orleans Saints 33/1
San Francisco 49ers 33/1
Atlanta Falcons 40/1
Buffalo Bills 40/1
Carolina Panthers 40/1
Kansas City Chiefs 40/1
San Diego Chargers 40/1
Chicago Bears 50/1
Houston Texans 50/1
Minnesota Vikings 50/1
St. Louis Rams 50/1
New York Jets 66/1
Cleveland Browns 75/1
Oakland Raiders 75/1
Washington Redskins 100/1
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 150/1
Jacksonville Jaguars 200/1
Tennessee Titans 200/1

This is just one set of Vegas odds, which should definitely appeal to Colts’ fans. However, there are different Vegas odds that favor other teams over the Colts.

In any event, it’s just interesting to see how Vegas changes its perception during free agency. After all, name the last team to win the Super Bowl after winning free agency.

We will wait.
