George Kittle may still be sidelined with that season-ending Achilles injury, but the San Francisco 49ers star clearly hasn’t been ruled out for emergency home-defense snaps yet.
Whether he’s grinding through rehab or going full pass-rusher on a surprise eight-legged intruder, Kittle continues to prove he’s clutch both on the field and around the house. And according to his wife, Claire Kittle, the All-Pro TE remains undefeated when it comes to handling household blitz situations.
Claire Kittle Calls in 49ers TE George Kittle for Reinforcements

You can officially add exterminator to George Kittle’s scouting report.
The seven-time Pro Bowler jumped on X Wednesday morning to break down a 4 a.m. household emergency that had him coming off the bench for an unexpected defensive snap. ESPN took to Instagram to share Kittle’s X post. The matchup? Claire Kittle vs. a bathroom spider “the size of a half dollar.”
According to Kittle, Claire woke him up in full panic mode before handing him the rehab slant board he’s been using during his Achilles recovery. The veteran TE then delivered what he described as a one-play drive.
“It took but 1 attempt,” Kittle posted, adding that the game-winning performance earned him “hugs and kisses” before he headed back to the sideline — aka bed.
The whole thing was peak Kittle: chaotic, hilarious and somehow still football-coded thanks to the rehab equipment cameo. It also gave fans another classic glimpse into one of the NFL’s most entertaining power couples.
Kittle’s spider takedown arrived the same morning the San Francisco 49ers locked in another major 2026 schedule update. With San Francisco officially set to host the Minnesota Vikings in Mexico City during Week 11.
Meanwhile, the All-Pro tight end is still rehabbing from the torn Achilles he suffered during the Niners’ NFC Wild Card win over the Philadelphia Eagles in January. The injury instantly became one of the franchise’s biggest offseason storylines. Especially with questions still lingering around his timeline for a return at age 32.
Still, if Kittle’s latest post proved anything, it’s that the locker room energy hasn’t gone anywhere. On a day dominated by schedule drops and season talk, he still managed to steal the spotlight without mentioning a single kickoff time.
All it took was Claire, a spider and one rehab board turned defensive weapon.
