Typically, Cincinnati Bengals trade rumors in seasons past have often focused on the potential availability of Tee Higgins or Trey Hendrickson, or players departing the team. Rarely do we see Bengals rumors involving them adding a star or even superstar talent.

Yet, when current Bengals players begin recruiting All-Pro players from other teams, we can’t help but pay attention. Especially when those campaigns take place on TV.

Recently, Bengals left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. made an appearance on Up & Adams, where he said New York Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence “is a baller” and that he’d “make our football team better.” A three-time Pro Bowler and two-time second-team All-Pro, there’s no doubt Lawrence would beef up the Bengals’ defensive front, especially after Hendrickson’s departure.

“Dexter Lawrence is a baller,” Brown said. “I think he’d be even more of a baller in orange and black. I don’t know how that kind of stuff goes necessarily, I don’t have all the answers.”

After discussions about a potential pay raise went south, Lawrence requested a trade from the Giants, yet John Harbaugh’s team has shown no inclination toward negotiating a deal with other teams. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of interest in one of the NFL’s best defensive tackles. Now that includes players who have gotten a chance to experience how much of a “baller” Lawrence is, firsthand.
