The Buffalo Bills are going to be without one of their defensive staples for Sunday night’s NFL Divisional Playoff matchup with the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Buffalo announced its inactives for the game. It includes star linebacker Terrel Bernard, who suffered an ankle injury in last week’s win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

This is an absolutely brutal blow for the Bills as they set to host Kansas City. Bernard has been huge in coverage for the Bills, yielding a mere 79.8 QB rating when targeted. The sophomore linebacker also recorded 6.5 sacks and three interceptions during the regular season.

Veteran A.J. Klein will likely see a ton of action in Bernard’s stead. He saw action in just two regular-season games for the Bills.

This could have wide-ranging ramifications with the Bills having to contest with star Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. We’re expecting free safety Micah Hyde to play a huge role in attempting to stop the All-Pro talent.
