The Myles Garrett trade could have a cascading effect throughout the league. While the Los Angeles Rams had already been viewed as contenders, now they’re Super Bowl favorites. Plus, adding arguably the NFL’s best defender now has sparked some rumors about Aaron Donald too.
The future first-ballot Hall of Fame defensive tackle has been enjoying retirement life since the 2023 season ended. Yet, every once in a while, a clip emerges of the 6-foot-1, 280-pound specimen, and he’s still in tip-top shape.
Now that Garrett gives the Rams a future Hall of Fame pass-rusher, has Donald had any renewed thoughts about coming out of retirement?

On Tuesday, roughly 24 hours after the Garrett trade was executed, Donald appeared on The Pat McAfee Show and addressed the rumors about a potential unretirement.
According to Donald, the trade, “it for sure got me thinking.”
He added, “Thirty-five, removed two years ago, gotta see if that fire can light back up.”
Usually, when rumors like this emerge, players and/or teams are quick to shoot them down. That isn’t the case here, at least not from Donald’s perspective. Perhaps the Rams feel differently, but we’d be willing to bet that Sean McVay and company are willing to welcome Donald back with open arms.
After all, Matthew Stafford won’t have many remaining opportunities to win another Super Bowl. This may be his best chance left, and Donald’s return would surely provide a boost.
