June 1 used to mark an important date in the NFL, when we’d see a flurry of free agent signings. That’s no longer the case, but it is still a crucial date, marking the period when teams can begin making post-June 1 cap casualties. Sometimes, these casualties take the form of trades that allow teams to save more money by spreading the cap penalty across multiple seasons.
We’ve heard about a potential A.J. Brown trade for months now, with the belief that it’s set to occur after June 1. He’s not alone. There are several other notable players who could be on the move, starting Tuesday, June 2. Below we present seven trade scenarios that could take place in the very near future.

Garrett Bradbury Traded to Baltimore Ravens

When their Pro Bowl center, Drew Dalman, retired, the Chicago Bears acted quickly to trade for his replacement in former first-round pick Garrett Bradbury. But after drafting Logan Jones in the second round, the circumstances have since changed.
Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens still need a better replacement for Tyler Linderbaum because soon-to-be 30-year-old Danny Pinter has started just 10 games in his NFL career. Bradbury may not be a long-term fix for Baltimore, but after starting all 21 games during New England’s Super Bowl run, he’ll be good enough to help the Ravens compete for a playoff spot. Chicago traded a fifth-round pick for Bradbury; we’d guess Baltimore would be open to sending similar compensation back to the Bears for their new starting center.

James Conner Traded to Green Bay Packers

Josh Jacobs’ recent run-in with the law casts doubt on his full availability for the 2026 season. If Jacobs is forced to miss any time, then James Conner would be an ideal fix, boasting a similar bruising style and tendency to fall forward.
Even before the trouble involving Jacobs emerged, the Packers’ stable of backup running backs was in question after letting Emanuel Wilson join Seattle, so if anything, Conner provides a highly capable RB2 for Matt LaFleur. After signing Tyler Allgeier and drafting Jeremiyah Love, the Arizona Cardinals don’t have a need for another veteran back like Conner, so they’d likely be happy to get a Day 3 pick in return.

Brandon Aiyuk Traded to Washington Commanders

It’s no secret that Jayden Daniels and Brandon Aiyuk, college teammates at Arizona State, would like to reunite. Plus, the Washington Commanders have a wide-open opportunity for targets after Terry McLaurin; it’s almost too perfect a fit. We know the San Francisco 49ers are more than ready to move on from Aiyuk, but they appear deadset against cutting him, so perhaps a trade involving a late-round pick swap works out for everyone.

Anthony Richardson Traded to Detroit Lions

The situation has to be a bit awkward for former No. 4 overall pick Anthony Richardson in Indianapolis now that the Colts have committed to a different franchise quarterback. Entering the final year of his contract, Richardson has already asked for a trade.
A team like the Detroit Lions could take a chance on the 24-year-old, who is amazingly still younger than Hendon Hooker was when GM Brad Holmes made him a third-round pick in 2023. Only, this time, Detroit wouldn’t have to give up anything more than a Day 3 selection.

Alvin Kamara Traded to Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars don’t know who will be their starting running back in 2026 after letting Travis Etienne depart in free agency. If an obvious choice doesn’t emerge, then shipping a Day 3 draft pick to New Orleans in exchange for Alvin Kamara could be a worthy gamble.
While he’s set to turn 31 in July, Kamara’s coming off his first season with fewer than 1,000 all-purpose yards in his career while playing in a personal low 11 games. If he can stay healthy, chances are Kamara can return to producing 1,000 yards combined as a rusher and receiver, making him an ideal replacement for Etienne in Liam Coen’s offense.

Jordyn Brooks Traded to Los Angeles Rams

Now that they have a potential future franchise QB secured, Los Angeles Rams GM Les Snead can return to being aggressive with his future draft capital. Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins are in rebuild mode.
All-Pro linebacker Jordyn Brooks will turn 29 this season, and he’s coming off a career-best and league-leading 183 tackles. He’s also heading into the final year of his contract and would likely be open to joining a contender. His run-stuffing superpowers would be welcome for a Rams team that is all-in on competing for another Super Bowl.

Josh Sweat Traded to Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears had a top-10 offense in Ben Johnson’s first season. Now it’s time to help Dennis Allen’s defense catch up. Getting them another elite pass-rusher would get the job done, both helping take attention away from Montez Sweat after a 10-sack season, while giving the secondary more chances to make plays.

A.J. Brown Traded to Kansas City Chiefs

Everyone is assuming that A.J. Brown will be reunited with Mike Vrabel in a trade to the New England Patriots. Reports suggest the two teams don’t have a verbal agreement in place, leaving the door open to a deal with another team. We’d like to see the Kansas City Chiefs add a power element to their passing attack.
The question is, will the Philadelphia Eagles be able to get a first-round pick? With the Chiefs typically picking late in the first round, they may not mind parting with their top selection for a proven talent who can upgrade their offense.
