This is not the quarterback news the Dallas Cowboys and their fans had been hoping for. However, it does add to the team’s depth chart at that position.
Dallas has reportedly signed three-time former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton to a one-year, $3 million deal that could be worth up to $7 million with incentives.
This would qualify as some shocking news. Just recently released by the Bengals, Dalton has been linked to the Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets. Obviously, the Cowboys made a late push to land Dak Prescott’s top backup.
As it relates to Prescott, this could light a fire under him. He’s currently in a contract stalemate with the Cowboys and does not plan on taking part in their off-season program. Dallas is sending a clear message here.
And in no real big surprise, the NFL world had its reactions to Saturday night’s news.
