He spent his first three seasons withthe Jets after they made the BYU product the No. 2 pick bac in 2021. Wilson proceeded to throw 23 touchdowns against 25 interceptions in 34 games (33 starts).

Tennessee Titans acquire offensive line depth

Tennessee Titans getCleveland Browns Get
Leroy Watson 2024 7th-round pick

The Browns had a mere six picks in the 2024 NFL Draft prior to this trade. They now add a second seventh-rounder for a player that was likely on the roster bubble. In turn, Tennessee gets some depth on the offensive line. Watson appeared in seven games as a rookie last season.

Houston Texans shockingly acquire Stefon Diggs

Houston Texans getBuffalo Bills get
Stefon Diggs2025 2nd-round pick

In what has yto be considered one of the biggest shockers of the NFL offseason, the upstart Houston Texans have acquired Stefon Diggs from the Buffalo Bills. This provided stud young quarterback C.J. Stroud another top-end option to go with breakout player Nico Collins at wide receiver.

Diggs, 30, averaged 111 receptions for 1,343 yards during his four-year run with the Buffalo Bills after originally being a fifth-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings. Despite this, drama defined Diggs’ tenure over the final couple seasons in Western New York. Getting a mere second-round pick in 2025 for the four-time Pro Bowler adds another layer to this.

Tennessee Titans land L’Jarius Sneed

Tennessee Titans getKansas City Chiefs get
L’Jarius Sneed2024 7th-round pick
2024 7th-round pick2025 3rd-round pick

Tennessee nabbed a Pro Bowl-caliber cornerback in Sneed for pennies on the dollar in a trade with the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs. The deal calls for the Titans to send a mere third-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to Kansas City. The Chiefs also move up in the seventh round of this year’s draft.

We understand that Sneed had the franchise tag placed on him and was unlikely to return to the Chiefs next season. But acquiring a mere mid-round pick a year down the road for him was a major loss for Kansas City. Sneed, 27, yielded a mere 51% completion and 56.2 QB rating when targeted a season ago.

Justin Fields dealt to Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers getChicago Bears get
Justin FieldsConditional 2025 4th-round pick

Fresh off dealing away Kenny Pickett, the Steelers found a backup for Russell Wilson. It comes in the form of a former first-round pick in that of Justin Fields. The cost was a mere sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft that could turn into a fourth-rounder should Fields play 51% of the Steelers’ offensive snaps this coming season.

Pittsburgh Steelers send Kenny Pickett packing

2 2025 7th-round pick2024 4th-round pick

Once the Steelers acquired Russell Wilson in free agency, it seemed as if he’d be competing with Pickett. That’s obviously not the case. Instead, Wilson takes over as Pittsburgh’s starter after they moved Pickett for pennies on the dollar. He lasted two seasons after being a first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, throwing 12 touchdowns against 12 interceptions. In turn, the Eagles get a backup to Jalen Hurts.

Minnesota Vikings add another first-round pick

Minnesota Vikings getHouston Texans get
2024 1st-round pick (23rd overall)2024 2nd-round pick
2024 7th-round pick2024 6th-round pick
2025 2nd-round pick

Houston picks up an additional second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft by moving down 19 spots in this year’s draft. It gives the team some extra ammo heading into the annual event.

As for the Minnesota Vikings, they add a second first-round pick to go with their original 11th pick. They could be used to move up again for a top-flight quarterback to replace the recently-departed Kirk Cousins. Early indications are that the target is North Carolina’s Drake Maye.

Chicago Bears shock NFL world with Keenan Allen blockbuster

Chicago Bears getLos Angeles Chargers get
Keenen Allen 2024 4th-round pick

Well, this comes completely out of nowhere. We knew that the Los Angeles Chargers were up against the salary cap. But their decision to restructure the contracts of Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa seemed to suggest that Allen’s job was safe.

About that? The six-time Pro Bowler was dealt to Chicago for a mere fourth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Despite his relatively advanced age, Allen still caught 108 passes for 1,243 yards and seven touchdowns a season ago. Imagine him teaming up with D.J. Moore for likely rookie No. 1 pick Caleb Williams.

Seattle Seahawks provide competition for Geno Smith

Seattle Seahawks getWashington Commanders get
Sam Howell2024 3rd-round pick
2024 4th-round pick2025 5th-round pick
2024 6th-round pick

Seattle has found some competition for Smith on the NFL trade block. That includes acquiring this former fifth-round pick from Washington. The cost ended up being a trade down 24 picks in the middle rounds and another trade down 27 picks in the late rounds. Howell, 23, threw for 3,946 yards with 21 touchdowns a season ago. He also led the NFL with 21 interceptions.

As for Washington, it’s clear that the team is going quarterback with the No. 2 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Getting anything of substance for Howell is a win.

Arizona Cardinals acquire Desmond Ridder

Arizona Cardinals getAtlanta Falcons get
Desmond RidderRondale Moore

A rare player-for-player swap with no draft picks involved. After signing Kirk Cousins earlier in the offseason, the Falcons moved their incumbent QB to Arizona. A third-round pick of the Falcons back in 2022, Ridder will now serve as Kyler Murray’s backup.

Meanwhile, Atlanta nabs another weapon for Cousins in the 5-foot-7 Moore. He failed to take off in three seasons with the Cardinals, but could fit this Atlanta offense to a T.

San Francisco 49ers add defensive line help

San Francisco 49ers getHouston Texans get
Maliek Collins2024 7th-round pick

This comes with the 49ers set to release their longest-tenured player in that of Arik Armstead once the new league year starts. It also comes one day after San Francisco signed fellow defensive tackle Jordan Elliott from the Cleveland Browns.

This past season saw Collins rack up career-highs in QB hits (18) and sacks (five) while starting all 16 games in which he appeared for the Texans.

New York Jets get Aaron Rodgers some protection

New York Jets getBaltimore Ravens get
Morgan Moses2024 4th-round pick
2024 4th-round pick2025 6th-round pick

The Jets needed to find a starting left tackle and right tackle this offseason. They are now half way there after adding Morgan Moses to the mix for pennies on the dollar. The veteran right tackle has started 144 of 152 games in which he’s appearance since being an original draft pick of Washington back in 2014.

As for the Ravens, they could either go with Daniel Faalele at right tackle or select an heir-apparent in the 2024 NFL Draft. There is are also quality starters remaining in free agency.

Diontae Johnson lands with the Carolina Panthers

Carolina Panthers getPittsburgh Steelers get
Diontae JohnsonDonte Jackson
2024 6th-round pick2024 7th-round pick

A third-round pick of the Steelers out of Toledo back in 2019, Johnson has morphed into a Pro Bowl-caliber wide receiver.

Back in 2021 with Pittsburgh, Johnson caught 107 passes for 1,161 yards with eight touchdowns. He has not been able to duplicate that success with an average of 69 receptions for 800 yards over the past two seasons.

Joe Mixon heads to the Houston Texans

Houston Texans getCincinnati Bengals get
Joe Mixon Conditional future 7th-round pick

Cincinnati was on the verge of releasing Mixon before opting to trade him to the Texans for a future conditional seventh-round pick. This comes after the Bengals signed Zack Moss in NFL free agency.

Houston gets its RB1 in this former Pro Bowler who is averaging 1,221 total yards and nine touchdowns throughout his seven-year career. He replaces Devin Singletary, who signed with the New York Giants.

New York Giants pull off blockbuster trade for Brian Burns

New York Giants getCarolina Panthers get
Brian Burns2024 2nd-round pick
2024 4th-round pick

New York adds one of the best young pass rushers in the NFL on the cheap. Remember, the Panthers had turned down an offer from the Los Angeles Rams of two first-round picks and change during the 2022 NFL seasons.

Burns, 25, ultimately signed a five-year, $141 million contract with New York. It makes him the second highest-paid edge rusher in the NFL behind Nick Bosa.

Carlton Davis traded to the Detroit Lions

Detroit Lions getTampa Bay Buccaneers get
Carlton Davis3rd-round pick in 2024
6th-round picks in 2024 and 2025

According to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero, the Lions have acquired veteran cornerback Carlton Davis from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Davis, 27, was a second-round pick of the Buccaneers out of Auburn back in 2018. He has started 75 of the 76 games in which he’s appeared in six NFL seasons.

Jacksonville Jaguars acquire Mac Jones

Jacksonville Jaguars getNew England Patriots get
Mac Jones2024 6th-round pick

The Jaguars have a new backup for Trevor Lawrence, and it cost the team very little. Yielding a sixth-round pick for former New England Patriots first-round selection Mac Jones could prove to be a steal.

Sure, Jones has struggled over the past two seasons (24 TD, 23 INT). But he has 42 career starts under his belt. Given the injuries we saw at the quarterback position during the 2023 NFL season, that’s no small thing.
