New York Jets may be poised to land Odell Beckham Jr. with meeting set for Monday

Odell Beckham Jr.

The last time fans saw Odell Beckham Jr. on an NFL field was during Super Bowl LVI when he unfortunately tore his ACL in February 2022. Prior to that unpreventable injury, OBJ may have been on track to win Super Bowl MVP, but we’ll never know what he could have accomplished.

While it’s been over four years since Beckham played a home game at MetLife Stadium, the three-time Pro Bowl receiver could soon call the Big Apple home again, based on his latest team visit.

According to Josina Anderson of CBS Sports, Beckham is set to meet with the New York Jets on Monday. As NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport adds, this will be much more than a simple visit. In addition to receiving a physical from team doctors, Beckham will also reportedly be engaged in a detailed discussion about how the expected Aaron Rodgers-led offense will operate and what OBJ’s potential role may be, if signed.

Beckham, 30, has also received a contract offer from the Baltimore Ravens after speaking with team executives during the owner’s meeting in Arizona in March. With the April 27 NFL Draft quickly approaching, Beckham could sign with a new team at any point before or after the three-day player selection process.

As the best receiver still available in free agency, it’s clear Beckham didn’t receive the offers he had hoped for, but there’s also no shortage of interest in his services. It’s just a matter of finding the right common ground regarding salary expectations. Perhaps the Jets are the team who can meet his needs, both financially and when it comes to receiving enough targets to boost his value for future contract discussions.
