While he will be a free agent, Daniel Jones won’t be returning as the New York Giants quarterback in 2025. Right now, Tommy DeVito is the only Giants quarterback from last year who’s likely to be under contract with the team next year. Drew Lock is a free agent.
Yet, if there’s one sure bet, it’s that the Giants will be adding one, two, possibly even three quarterbacks to the roster this offseason. They’re even already being linked to a 10-time Pro Bowl QB.

New York Giants on Russell Wilson’s “radar” this offseason

The New York Giants have the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. That could place them in a perfect position to land their QB of the future, with University of Miami’s Cam Ward and University of Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders both viewed as top prospects.
Yet, the Giants could still move forward with a plan to find a long-term solution while upgrading their QB room with an accomplished veteran too.
Recently, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler gathered intel on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ QB plans while covering the Super Bowl down in New Orleans. In doing so, he learned of multiple connections tying the Giants to Russell Wilson this offseason.
“Wilson loved his season in Pittsburgh and is open to returning but is taking a see-what-happens approach to it all. Ex-Pete Carroll assistants believe Wilson could coexist with Carroll for the Raiders, too, having mended fences from their Seattle days. But others around the league are skeptical of the pairing. Wilson has also been connected to the Giants by a few people this week. He visited with the Giants last free agency, and New York is on his radar as a potential option in 2025.”
ESPN on Russell Wilson’s interest in New York Giants
Wilson has been tied to the New York area at frequent points throughout his 13-year NFL career. Even if the Giants wind up looking in another direction, there’s always the Jets, who may be in the market for a different veteran quarterback, depending on their plans with Aaron Rodgers. Whether it’s in blue or green, Wilson could end up in New York this offseason.
