NASCAR has seen several new Cup Series organizations over the last few seasons. Some of the notable additions include Trackhouse Racing, 23XI Racing, and Kaulig Racing. Meanwhile, Chip Ganassi Racing is a notable departure.
There have also been many teams that pursue the Cup Series without a charter. The ones that come to mind are The Money Team Racing, NY Racing Team, Team Hezeberg, and several more. Finishline Motorsports is a new one but they haven’t competed in a race yet.

New NASCAR team looking to compete at Atlanta Motor Speedway
A new NASCAR team is looking to make its debut sooner rather than later but it is unclear if it will fully happen at this point or not. Either way, this is the latest news on NASCAR’s newest organization.
According to Motorsport.com, a new NASCAR team, 3F Racing, is looking to make its debut in the NASCAR Cup Series at Atlanta Motor Speedway next weekend. 3F Racing is a German-based team that has plans to skip the NASCAR Xfinity and Truck Series.
Dennis Hirtz, the founder of 3F Racing, has purchased a NASCAR license and secured the No. 30 car for future use. Therefore, it appears the organization is truly planning to go through with its plans during the 2023 season.
3F Racing was supposed to make its debut at the Charlotte ROVAL last season; however, that did not occur and the focus was shifted to the 2023 season. This is what Hirtz had to say about 3F Racing’s plans moving forward.
“We are planning five to ten entries and until 2025 we are pursuing the strategy of starting as a full-time team, then with just one driver. Before that, we will race part-time with several drivers.”

If this is the case, we could be seeing 3F Racing up to 10 times during the 2023 and 2024 seasons starting next weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. However, the last line is intriguing as it will feature multiple drivers on a part-time basis.

3 bold candidates to drive for this new NASCAR organization
The NASCAR Cup Series could be seeing a new team on the race track next weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway but any potential drivers are unknown. Who are some drivers that could make sense for the organization?
Justin Allgaier, a veteran NASCAR Xfinity Series driver for JR Motorsports, might be the best selection. Allgaier has been in the Cup Series before and has fully established himself as a race-winning driver in the Xfinity Series.
The driver of the No. 9 car for JR Motorsports would have a great opportunity for himself to race on Sunday again and secure time in the NextGen car. It would be a really good partnership overall.
Greg Biffle, a former Cup Series driver, would also be a really solid selection. Biffle has not competed full-time in the Cup Series since the 2016 season but attempted five races with NY Racing Team in 2022.
The 19-time Cup Series winner would be a good and experienced driver to start off 3F Racing’s journey in the Cup Series. There would be much joy to see Biffle back in NASCAR again too.
Finally, J.J. Yeley, a part-time driver for Rick Ware Racing, would be another good option for 3F Racing at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Yeley has 19 years of experience in the Cup Series and has driven for lower-ended teams before.
The 19-year veteran would represent a solid start to 3F Racing’s part-time efforts, even though he is not a big-name driver like Allgaier or Biffle. Yeley fits the criteria that 3F Racing is looking for overall.
It will be interesting to see if 3F Racing truly does make its debut at Atlanta Motor Speedway next weekend. If so, the next question is who the driver of the No. 30 car will be once they arrive at the race track.
