New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft made an appearance on Fox News Tuesday night to discuss the upcoming NFL season. He echoed the sentiments shared by the league itself about games being played as usual this fall.

Kraft: NFL ‘preparing to hopefully play football this fall’

Speaking with Sean Hannity, Kraft said shared an optimistic view of the coming season.

“We’re preparing to hopefully play football this fall. We’re working hand-in-hand with our [players] union,” Kraft said, per Mike Reiss of ESPN. “We believe we’re developing protocols that allow us to do it in a safe way, looking out first for our players and our personnel, and then of course, the fans. I believe we can do it.”

It’s rather interesting that Kraft mentioned the NFLPA. The reason being, NFLPA President JC Tretter made it abundantly clear on Tuesday that the union has not agreed on any plan to reopen at this time.

Not all players are board with a plan that isn’t 100% safe. It’s going to be fascinating to see if the NFL and NFLPA have any big issues that cause hiccups to the league’s reopening plans.
