New England Patriots cornerback Jonathan Jones will have surgery on his injured shoulder Monday and is out for the season, NFL Network reported.

Jones, 28, was put on injured reserve last week. He sustained the injury during the Patriots’ Week 6 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, Jones’ first start of the season.

The Pats were already thin at cornerback following the trade of Stephon Gilmore. Shaun Wade (concussion) missed his third straight game Sunday against the New York Jets.

Jones had played in all six games this season, collecting 20 tackles, one interception and three passes defensed. He has seven career interceptions in 85 games (27 starts) in five-plus seasons, all with the Pats.

He signed with the Pats as an undrafted free agent in 2016.
