Anthony Davis and his New Orleans Pelicans are in Chicago to take on the Bulls Wednesday night.
The backdrop here is real. While he’s healthy enough to return from injury, Davis is being held out by the Pelicans as they look to trade him.
In the home team’s locker room, both Jabari Parker and Bobby Portis were traded from the Bulls to the Washington Wizards immediately prior to Wednesday night’s game.
In what has to be considered a surreal scene, Davis was shown embracing Parker as the latter exited the United Center for his new home in D.C.

Such is the nature of the beast during NBA trade deadline week. These players are humans, too. They have raw emotions like the rest of us.
As it relates to Davis, it’s looking less and less likely that he’ll be moved ahead of Thursday’s deadline. At the very least, his friend, Jabari, gets that fresh start.
