New York Knicks free agent Josh Hart is hoping for a reunion in Gotham with one of his favorite teammates from his playing days in Villanova, who just so happens to also be a veteran of the Golden State Warriors.
This summer there will be many talented players up for grabs in NBA free agency. While this year’s class may not have elite superstars available, there are a pair of former league MVPs like James Harden and Russell Westbrook that will hit the open market, as well as a key member of the New York Knicks roster.

While the Knicks won’t have much salary cap space to add an All-Star talent to their roster, they should have enough cap flexibility to add some helpful pieces and re-sign Josh Hart. A player who was key in their strong finish to the 2022-2023 season and in reaching the semifinals in the NBA playoffs.
Hart earned a notable raise with his play in the spring but many around the league expect him to return to the New York Knicks this summer. He seems to believe he will be back in orange and blue next season and has moved on to pondering some new possible teammates in 2023-2024.
New York Knicks Josh Hart hopes team signs Donte DiVincenzo

During a conversation with Bleacher Report earlier this week, Hart was asked about liking a tweet that detailed why Golden State Warriors player Donte DiVincenzo would be a good fit for the New York Knicks this season. While speaking about the like on Twitter, Hart admitted that DiVincenzo is a “Villanova guy I’m trying to get to NY.” As well as the fact that he recently spoke to the four-year NBA veteran.
DiVincenzo is not an official free agent, however, he does have a player option for next season. In his 72 games — 36 starts — with the Golden State Warriors last season, he was a key reserve and definitely earned a raise on the $4.7 million he is set to make in 2023-2024.
The New York Knicks defensive ace played two seasons with DiVincenzo, as well as Jalen Brunson, at college basketball powerhouse Villanova before they made the leap to the NBA.
