NASCAR: South Point 400
Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Ryan Blaney and the No. 12 Team Penske team have been disqualified following findings in post-race inspection after the South Point 400 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

NASCAR cited section 14.11.3.5 in the Cup Series rule book and that the left front shock of the car did not meet the specified length of 22.55 inches.

As a result, Blaney is moved from eighth to last, 36th, and is only credited with one point earned throughout the race. He was the third-highest points earner on the day and still lost points to the cutline. Now, if this stands, he will have to win one of the next two races to make the NASCAR championship race at Phoenix.
