The disqualification of Parker Kligerman and Henderson Motorsports that resulted in the Truck Series season opening win at Daytona International Speedway going to Corey Heim and Tricon Garage has been upheld.
The No. 75 truck was deemed to have been too low in the rear after a post-race inspection.
The decision was appealed and both the team and NASCAR made its argument on Thursday morning before a National Motorsports Appeals Panel consisting of Langley Speedway owner Bill Mullis, longtime racer and promoter Kevin Whitaker and former Cup Series crew member Tommy Wheeler of Hendrick Motorsports and Evernham Motorsports fame.
Their decision came with the following statement:
The panel confirms it is more likely than not a rules violation did occur and the disqualification penalties in Rule 10.5.2.4 necessitate a race disqualification.”

Henderson Motorsports is a part-time team so its playoff eligibility is a moot point. Kligerman kept the flag after the race on Friday night but all winnings, points and a playoff berth is now awarded to Heim and the Tricon Garage No. 11 team.
Disqualifications can only be appealed once. There is no final appeals process. The matter is now closed.
