NASCAR vet Gray Gaulding arrested on Domestic Violence Charge

The 26-year-old hasn't raced this season

Update: NASCAR has indefinitely suspended Gray Gaulding following his arrest on Tuesday. Original story follows below.

Veteran NASCAR driver Gray Gaulding was arrested by the Mecklenburg Country Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday morning at 7:17 a.m. for a ‘Misdemeanor Crime of Domestic Violence.’ He was released at 12:42 p.m. that same day.

The first report appeared on TobyChristie.com, which also reported no court dates scheduled per the North Carolina Judicial Branch website.

Gaulding has yet to make a start this season, but raced 11 times in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2023 with a pair of top-10s. He also made a Cup Series start at Gateway for Rick Ware Racing where he finished 29th.

The 26-year-old from Colonial Heights, Virginia has 158 combined NASCAR national touring series starts but had no announced plans for the 2024 season.
