Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott’s throwing shoulder is healing well, according to results from a second MRI the team got back Saturday.

Prescott has been throwing this past week, including ahead of the Cowboys’ exhibition game against Arizona on Friday.

Prescott suffered a Grade 1 shoulder strain in practice July 28. The hope is that Prescott will make a return to practice Monday night. He said earlier this week that the plan is for him to play in next Saturday’s third preseason game, against the Houston Texans.

“He’s coming along as usual, ahead of schedule,” Cowboys chief operating officer/executive vice president Stephen Jones said Friday. “As you saw, he threw the ball well out in camp, he threw it well (Friday) with Amari. And he’s right on target and of course our undisputed leader in the locker room.”
