Pete Alonso is among MLB’s best free agents during the 2025 offseason, and several suitors are lining up for his services. Teams such as the New York Mets, Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles, and Cincinnati Reds have all been linked to Alonso. Now, the free-agent first baseman is set to meet with a few organizations.

According to the New York Post’s Mike Puma, Alonso is driving to the MLB Winter Meetings in Orlando to meet with the Orioles, Red Sox, and other organizations. As of now, it is unclear if Alonso will meet with the Mets, who have been his home since 2016.

In 2025, Alonso posted 38 home runs and 126 runs batted in over 162 games. It marked the second straight season where the 31-year-old first baseman completed all 162 games over the course of the year. Needless to say, Alonso’s availability is an excellent characteristic on his calling card.

The Orioles would benefit from adding Alonso’s bat to their lineup, and the same can be said for the Red Sox. Alonso is capable of being the heart and soul of a World Series-caliber lineup, and every team in need of a first baseman would love his services. Baltimore hopes it can bring Alonso to Camden Yards, as it would transform its lineup.
