A recently fired manager is reportedly very high on the same job with the Los Angeles Angels and is “trying hard” to get an interview with the franchise.
Despite a surge in July and the organization going all-in with some key trades to make some noise in the playoffs, the Los Angeles Angels fell apart and out of the race in August. The low point came when it was revealed that superstar MVP candidate Shohei Ohtani had a tear in his UCL and would require Tommy John surgery for the second time in his career.
That poor showing with a talented roster led by Ohtani and team great Mike Trout actually led to the organization letting go of manager Phil Nevin after two seasons. A veteran skipper in a similar spot is now-former New York Mets manager Buck Showalter. He surprisingly resigned — or was really fired — from the team after just two seasons when a new team president arrived this week.
Buck Showalter desperately wants Los Angeles Angels manager job

Well, it seems that Showalter does not want to stay out of the game long and has eyes on managing a sixth team during his career.
On Thursday, New York Post MLB insider Mike Puma reported that “Buck Showalter is interested in the Angels’ managerial opening, according to a source, and trying hard to get an interview. The job isn’t deemed attractive within the industry because GM Perry Minasian is entering the final year of his contract. But Showalter wants to manage.”
The 67-year-old has managed the New York Yankees, Arizona Diamondbacks, Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles, and Mets during his 22 years in the sport leading benches in MLB. He has a career record of 1,727-1,665 and was 176-148 as the manager of the Mets.
