Minnesota Vikings activate Patrick Peterson from COVID list

The Minnesota Vikings activated perennial Pro Bowl cornerback Patrick Peterson from the reserve/COVID-19 list on Tuesday.

Peterson, who has said he is vaccinated, landed on the list on Nov. 29 and missed Sunday’s 29-27 loss to the previously winless Detroit Lions.

He missed three games earlier this season on injured reserve with a hamstring injury and has 21 tackles and two passes defensed in eight starts.

Peterson, 31, is in his first year with the Vikings after making eight Pro Bowls and three All-Pro teams in 10 seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. He has 28 career interceptions and 12 fumble recoveries.

The Vikings (5-7) have lost two in a row heading into Thursday night’s game against the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers (6-5-1).
