Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Travis Shaw needed to be helped off the field after suffering an injury in the second inning of Wednesday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds.
Shaw attempted to make a diving play in the field but stayed on the ground after the end of the play. The team brought out a cart, but Shaw was eventually able to walk off the field with two trainers, one of them holding his left arm in position.
Reports said Shaw had an air cast around the arm as well. An update on his condition was not immediately available.
Shaw, 31, played in 55 games for the Brewers this season entering Wednesday. He is batting .192 with six home runs and 28 RBIs. It is Shaw’s second stint in Milwaukee, where he spent three seasons from 2017-19, after playing for the Toronto Blue Jays in 2020.
