Milwaukee Brewers acquire left-handed reliever Kyle Lobstein

The Milwaukee Brewers acquired left-handed reliever Kyle Lobstein from the Washington Nationals on Tuesday and optioned him to Triple-A Nashville.

The Nationals designated Lobstein for assignment on Saturday. Washington will receive cash considerations in the deal.

To make room for Lobstein on the 40-man roster, the Brewers designated Ryan Weber for assignment.

Lobstein, 31, made three appearances for the Nationals after they brought him up late last month. Lobstein’s previous appearance in the majors was in 2016 with Pittsburgh.

Lobstein went 0-0 with a 20.25 ERA in 1 1/3 inning pitched. But he had a sparkling 1.69 ERA in 21 1/3 innings at Triple-A Rochester prior to the call-up.

Weber went 0-0 with a 14.85 ERA in two appearances for the Brewers. The Brewers claimed Weber off waivers from the Boston Red Sox in June.

The Brewers also announced Tuesday that infielder Daniel Robertson has passed through outright waivers.
