Angels star Mike Trout left Los Angeles’ Monday game against the Cleveland Indians in Anaheim, Calif., after the first inning due to a strained right calf.

Trout walked and went to second on a wild pitch. He walked gingerly to the dugout at the end of the inning.

The center fielder was replaced in the Angels’ lineup by left fielder Jose Rojas, and Juan Lagares shifted from left to center.

Trout will be re-evaluated Tuesday.

The American League MVP in 2014, 2016 and 2019, Trout led the major leagues with a .462 on-base percentage and 1.086 OPS entering Monday. In 35 games, he is hitting .333 with 27 walks, eight home runs, eight doubles, one triple and 18 RBIs.
