Ever since Jim Harbaugh’s season with the Michigan Wolverines came to an end following their loss to TCU in the Fiesta Bowl, reports have linked the head coach to several vacancies around the NFL.
While he continues to experience more success at Michigan, Harbaugh flirting with the NFL has become a common theme. Last year it was the Minnesota Vikings who took a last-minute meeting with Harbaugh doing his part to sell the organization on why he was a strong fit.
This time around, there are five current head coaching vacancies in the NFL, and Harbaugh would appear to be one of the more qualified candidates. Evidently, Harbaugh won’t be taking his talent back to the professional ranks in 2023.
According to University of Michigan president Santa Ono, Harbaugh will “remain as the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines.”

While rumors are constantly running rampant in the sports world, this isn’t your average hearsay that goes unaddressed. Coach Harbaugh has already responded to Ono’s claims with a statement of his own, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“I love the relationships that I have at Michigan – coaches, staff, families, administration, President Santa Ono and especially the players and their families. My heart is at the University of Michigan. I once heard a wise man say “Don’t try to out-happy, happy.” Go Blue!”

Now Harbaugh gets to re-join star running back Blake Corum, who mentioned he had some “unfinished business” to complete in college. Michigan managed to reach the College Football Playoff in 2022, perhaps they can run it back and get even further in 2023.
