One day after dislocating his ankle and popping back into place while celebrating an ace in the Masters Par 3 contest, Tony Finau fired an opening round 68. It was a truly impressive display from a man whose status in the tournament was uncertain heading into Thursday. It impressed Luke Donald, as well.
Shortly after Finau’s opening round, the former No. 1 ranked golfer in the world took to Twitter to credit Finau, making a solid 80’s movie reference in the process.
Tony Finau – wow! One of the greatest sporting injury comebacks since Mr Miyagi worked his magic on Daniel son!! #themasters2018

If Finau finishes the 2018 Masters with a crane kick, the comeback will be complete.
