Southern California and LSU will kick off the 2024 season in Las Vegas, marking just the third time ever the storied programs have played each other.
The Vegas Kickoff Classic will be held Labor Day weekend at Allegiant Stadium, home to the Las Vegas Raiders. The exact date is still to be determined.
“The opportunity to bring our team and the best fans in college football to Las Vegas is incredibly exciting,” LSU athletic director Scott Woodward said in a statement.
LSU head coach Ed Orgeron served as USC’s interim head coach in 2013, going 6-2 in place of Lane Kiffin, who was fired on the tarmac after a blowout loss to Arizona State in September.
The teams have met twice before, with USC winning at Baton Rouge in 1979 and LSU winning at Los Angeles in 1984.
