Los Angeles Lakers veteran guard Dennis Schroder got his first start of the playoffs Friday night as they attempted to close out the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

Schroder had played well throughout the series, especially over the past three games. That span saw him average 12.0 PPG on 52% shooting while playing good defense against Stephen Curry. Hence, why Lakers head coach Darvin Ham inserted Schroder into the starting lineup.

Things were going swimmingly for Schroder and the Lakers in the third quarter with the team maintaining a double-digit lead at home. That’s when Schroder got into a bit of a tussle with Draymond Green. Having already received a technical in the game, Schroder was tossed by officials on hand in Southern California with his second. You be the judge here.

We’re not exactly sure what Dennis Schroder did. We do know what Green did to receive his tech. He put the ball in Schroder’s face as part of a double tech.

It’s unfortunate that officials decided to play a role in the outcome of the game. They took out the one player who had done extremely well defending four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry.

Dennis Schroder finished the game with just three points on 1-of-6 shooting. However, the Lakers were plus-16 in his 25 minutes of action. Through three quarters, they were minus-two with him not on the court.
