The Los Angeles Dodgers activated infielder Gavin Lux from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Lux, 23, had been on the shelf since July 19 with a left hamstring strain.

He is hitting .227 on the year with six home runs, 37 RBIs and 39 runs scored in 82 games.

With Corey Seager also back from the injured list and Trea Turner a new mainstay in the lineup, Lux will move from a starter at shortstop or second base to a utility role. Manager Dave Roberts said Lux, who played three rehab games at third base, may even see time in right field to get him playing time.

The Dodgers also added right-hander Evan Phillips to the roster and sent pitchers Andre Jackson and Conner Greene to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Phillips, 26, was acquired off waivers Monday after being designated for assignment by the Tampa Bay Rays. Phillips has pitched in only one major league game this season.
