Lonzo Ball to undergo arthroscopic surgery on left knee

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball will have to go under the knife in the near future. After reportedly tearing his meniscus, the 20-year-old is now headed for surgery.

Ball will undergo surgery on Tuesday to repair the torn meniscus in his left knee. It’s news Los Angeles almost had to expect given reports on July 4 that surgery was on the table for the point guard.

Fortunately for Los Angeles, this is a decision where they don’t have to make a reactionary move. The addition of Rajon Rondo gives them a lead guard who can help facilitate on the court while Ball recovers.

Even with an expected recovery time, arthroscopic surgery shouldn’t put Ball in danger of missing any action in the coming season. The Lakers can now make sure his knee is 100 percent healthy then get him back in action when the time is right.
