As far as we know, Tom Brady won’t be playing football in 2024. Based on the current hiring cycle, it doesn’t look like Bill Belichick will be coaching either. If so, it will be the first time since 1975 that Belichick won’t be employed by an NFL team.
With so much extra time on his hands, how will Belichick stay busy next season? We have a hard time imagining him not being involved in football. From the sounds of it, that may not be the case for the six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach.
NFL insider says Bill Belichick may take time away from coaching to be on TV
According to NFL insider Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, multiple sources think a job in television could be in Bill Belichick’s future. One source even went on record to say Belichick would be a very highly sought-after free agent.
“Every network would want him,” said one media agent. “He would revolutionize media with the way he prepares.”
Unnamed source on Bill Belichick’s TV future
Unlike Tom Brady, this same agent said Belichick likely wouldn’t be in an announcement booth, and would be better-suited for a studio role. Their reasoning was due to Belichick’s voice not being “big enough.”
While we may not hear Belichick calling any games, NFL fans would be lucky to bear witness to his various takes on the game of football, whatever way he’s willing to share them.
