Toronto Maple Leafs forwards Mitch Marner and Pierre Engvall entered the COVID-19 protocol Friday.

Marner, 24, has posted 21 points (six goals, 15 assists) in 26 games this season. He was sidelined for almost all of December with a shoulder injury sustained in a practice collision with defenseman Jake Muzzin.

Marner has 379 points (109 goals, 270 assists) in 381 games with the Maple Leafs since they drafted him in the first round (fourth overall) in 2015.

Engvall, 25, has contributed 10 points (four goals, six assists) while appearing in all 32 games this season.

Engvall has 37 points (19 goals, 18 assists) in 122 career games since Toronto made him a seventh-round draft pick in 2014.

The Maple Leafs’ next game is Saturday night against the Colorado Avalanche in Denver.
