With the Las Vegas Raiders getting off to a 3-4 start this season, it seems that teams around the league believe they could be sellers before the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline and have checked in about the availability of two of their top players.
The Josh McDaniels era in Las Vegas has been a disappointment. They finished 6-11 in 2022 and have struggled their way to just three wins as they enter the Week 8 NFL games today. The team has been a mess on the field at times this season and there has been unrest in the locker room since last season.

While it wouldn’t take much for them to jump right back into playoff contention, all signs point to another losing season for the Raiders. That is why some organizations around the league believe the team could be in sell mode before the trade deadline as they try to reimagine the roster to better fit their head coach.

“The Las Vegas Raiders have had trade calls surrounding wide receiver Hunter Renfrow for weeks, but no deal is imminent. They’ve also received calls on two of their superstars, receiver Davante Adams and defensive end Maxx Crosby, but their answer has been an emphatic no.
“Crosby, in particular, could command a haul, given that he’s one of the best edge rushers in football, signed for three more seasons, and is still only 26 years old. But the Raiders have shown no indication they’re open to listening to offers.”

It has to be a relief to Raiders fans that the team isn’t embracing a fire sale that would lead to the departure of their best player on defense. However, it is interesting that they are not open to the idea of moving disgruntled wide receiver Davante Adams.
Clearly, the team believes they can compete for a playoff spot in 2023 if they fix a few of their biggest technical issues on both sides of the ball.
