The Las Vegas Raiders have made significant changes to their offense this spring, adding wide receiver Jakobi Meyers and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. As the coaching staff continues to reshape the roster, Hunter Renfrow’s future has come into question.
Renfrow, the 149th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, emerged as a Pro Bowl selection in 2021. He finished 20th in the NFL in receiving yards (1,038), hauling in the ninth-most receptions (103) on 128 targets in 17 games.

However, the arrival of head coach Josh McDaniels and wide receiver Davante Adams reduced Renfrow’s role in the offense. He finished the season fifth on the team in targets (50), averaging just 9.2 yards per reception and finished with fewer receiving yards than Quez Watkins, Will Dissly and Allen Robinson.

Las Vegas added Meyers to its receiving corps this offseason, adding one of the most productive slot receivers in the NFL last season. It’s led to rumors that Renfrow could be traded, but it appears Las Vegas hasn’t found much of a market for him.
According to Tashan Reed of The Athletic, the Raiders haven’t received a single offer from another team for Renfrow. While there’s still a chance he is moved by November, Las Vegas hasn’t been able to find a viable trade market for him right now.
Renfrow’s reduced effectiveness last season and his cap hit are likely playing rule in the absent market. There are still veteran receivers available in free agency, which wouldn’t cost teams a draft pick nor $13 million in cap space.

Ultimately, the Raiders will likely keep Renfrow and use him as a rotational wide receiver next season. After the 2023 season, Las Vegas can cut him next spring and create $8.2 million in cap space.
