There’s no question that Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has done some amazing things on the football. But he might have outdone himself Sunday.
In the second quarter of the AFC Championship Game, with his team trailing the Kansas City Chiefs 14-7, Lamar Jackson threw a pass that was caught by, uh, Lamar Jackson and ended up going for a 13-yard reception.
As Jackson was throwing the ball, Kansas City Chiefs safety Justin Reid was bearing down on Jackson on a blitz, and Reid deflected Jackson’s pass into the air.
Jackson immediately went into a full sprint and caught the ball and then headed downfield.
If it wasn’t for the Chiefs’ Drue Tranquill, who tackled Jackson before he get his momentum going at the Ravens’ 31-yard line, the Ravens’ quarterback might have taken it to the distance.

It’s been an electrifying season for Jackson, who is expected to win his second NFL Most Valuable Player award after leading the Ravens to the league’s best record.

But he was struggling early against the Chiefs’ No. 2 defense, completing only five of his first 12 passes for 67 yards — with 13 of those to himself — and losing a fumble on a strip sack.
Jackson is trying to lead the Ravens to the Super Bowl for the first time in his career and to the third time in franchise history.
