Los Angeles Chargers’ Khalil Mack dominates former Raiders team with 6 sacks

Los Angeles Chargers edge rusher Khalil Mack was a man on a mission as he took on his former Las Vegas Raiders team at home Sunday afternoon.

Facing rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell who was making his first start in Southern California during Week 4, Mack dominated the Raiders’ lackluster offensive line.

That included the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year registering a whopping six sacks in a 24-17 win. He was all up in Vegas’ backfield throughout the afternoon, making O’Connell’s day a living hell. It just wasn’t fair.

A total of six sacks with almost a quarter to go. To put this into perspective, the single-game NFL record was set by late-great former Kansas City Chiefs star Derrick Thomas with seven back in November of 1990.

Khalil Mack starred for the Raiders from 2014-2017 when they played in Northern California. Then-head coach Jon Gruden spearheaded a blockbuster deal that sent Mack to the Chicago Bears ahead of the 2018 season.

The former top-five pick was absolutely dominant in Oakland. That included winning NFL DPOY back in 2016 en route to recording 26 QB hits, 14 tackles for loss and 11 sacks.

Despite his brilliant career, Mack entered Sunday’s Week 4 outing without a single sack through three games. In fact, Mack had registered just two quarterback hits without a single tackle for loss.

It’s rather clear that Mack took his frustration out on his former Raiders team in a big way. Just some crazy stuff here.
