The Minnesota Timberwolves will have to play for at least the next month without Karl-Anthony Towns after the leg injury he suffered on Monday was diagnosed as a severe calf strain.

Yesterday, the Timberwolves were in Washington for a game against the Wizards. Minnesota would eventually go on to lose the game by nearly 20 points on a night where they gave up an embarrassing 145 points to the Wizards. However, they suffered a bigger loss than the one added to the standings on Monday.

In the third quarter of last night’s matchup, Karl-Anthony Towns pulled up in pain while running back on defense. He immediately collapsed and had to be helped off the floor by two teammates. The incident left many to wonder if the three-time All-Star might have suffered a more serious season-ending injury.
