We’re about to find out, with Joe Thuney already ruled out for Sunday’s matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
A three-time Super Bowl-winning offensive lineman, Thuney had always been viewed as a longshot to play ever since he suffered a pectoral injury during the Chiefs’ Divisional Round playoff matchup. Thuney missed the Chiefs’ win over the Ravens due to the injury, and now he’s set to miss one of the biggest games of his career.
Thuney, an All-Pro, was replaced by Nick Allegretti against the Ravens, and that’s presumed to be the route the Chiefs take for the Super Bowl too.
While Thuney has been ruled out, Chris Jones, Isiah Pacheco, and Rashee Rice are all off the injury report after previously battling various issues.
