Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl 58 chances take a massive hit due to the infamous ‘Drake curse’

If the Kansas City Chiefs can’t win a second straight Super Bowl title, and fall to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, there may be one specific reason why: The deadly “Drake Curse.”

In Super Bowl LVIII the Chiefs will be trying to do something that only eight other teams in NFL history have ever done and win back-to-back Super Bowls. Kansas City was a popular choice over the surprising Cincinnati Bengals last year, however, they are an underdog against San Francisco with some oddsmakers.

Nevertheless, they are as live an underdog as there has ever been in a Super Bowl game. However, they may be doomed from the start due to something even worse than the notorious “Madden Curse” and that is the recent victory hex known as the “Drake Curse.”

Hip-hop star Drake puts $1 million bets on Kansas City Chiefs to win Super Bowl LVIII

On Saturday night it was revealed that hip-hop superstar and avid sports bettor Drake had put a $1.15 million bet that the Kansas City Chiefs would be victorious over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58. For casual sports fans that would be a fun and interesting tidbit heading into the matchup. However, it is bad news for those in the know.

Over the last few years, the idea of the “Drake Curse” has grown in popularity as the rapper has either put bets down or shown public support for teams or athletes that did not end well. Most recently, he lost six figures when he picked middleweight champion Sean Strickland to beat Dricus Du Plessis last month at UFC 297.

In 2019, he posted a video of motivating the Alabama football team in their locker room before their national championship game against Clemson. The Crimson Tide went on to get smashed by a score of 44-16. Even the rapper himself has used the curse for his favorite teams when he wore a Philadelphia 76ers jersey for a huge playoff game against his hometown Toronto Raptors.

Shockingly, the matchup ended with a legendary Kawhi Leonard game-winning shot that sent the Raptors to the Eastern Conference Finals. Kansas City Chiefs fans should be very worried they may not officially reach dynasty status on Sunday due to the most dangerous curse in the sports world.
