Josh Norman ruled out for Week 7 game against Eagles

Josh Norman

Josh Norman suffered a rib fracture in Week 4, and he’s still hurting as the Washington Redskins head into Week 7’s Monday night game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Head coach Jay Gruden announced Norman would not play in the upcoming game Monday, along with offensive linemen Tyler Catalina and Ty Nsekhe.

When Norman initially suffered the injury, it was severe enough that Gruden knew at the half his guy would likely miss at least a couple of weeks. In addition to the rib fracture, Norman was dealt minor damage to his lung lining due to the nature of the injury.

Needless to say, Washington is right to keep Norman out of action until he’s fully healthy. Playing with rib injuries is always painful, and many players gut it out even before they’re fully healed. However, there can be no room for error when lungs are involved.
