Brewers reportedly land Jordan Lyles in trade with Pirates

The Milwaukee Brewers are bringing back pitcher Jordan Lyles, acquiring him in a trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

In exchange, the Pirates are receiving reliever Cody Ponce, who was a second-round pick in the 2015 MLB Draft, per Jon Heyman of MLB Network.

Lyles has struggled throughout this season and was part of the kind of history nobody wants to make earlier this year. In 82.1 innings of work, he’s given up 88 hits, including 16 home runs, and has an ERA of 5.36.

However, in limited work with Milwaukee last year, he showed some good stuff and posted a 3.31 ERA.
