Jonathan Taylor finally comments on odd situation with Indianapolis Colts

Even though Jonathan Taylor requested a trade from the Indianapolis Colts before the season started, the All-Pro running back remains with the franchise. Now heading into Week 5, the Colts’ offensive star is finally back with the organization following a four-week absence due to a lingering ankle injury.

Now that the Colts have opened his 21-day practice window after coming off the physically unable to perform list, Taylor finally had a chance to address the media on Thursday for the first time.

“It feels really good to be healthy. The main goal was to be healthy and play football. I don’t think it matters if I say I’m committed or not because I’m here.”

Jonathan Taylor on his relationship with Indianapolis Colts

Taylor suggests he’s physically ready to return to playing football right now, even if it may take a few weeks to get up to full speed with his conditioning.

On the bright side, as Taylor suggests, he’s committed to the Colts and ready to play. As to his priorities up to this point? Taylor said his main goal was getting healthy.

Taylor is headed into the final year of his rookie contract, and while he would like a long-term extension, the Colts have been unable to find common ground with their starting tailback just yet.

The Colts are currently 2-2. Getting Taylor back in the lineup should only boost their chances in the AFC South while taking some pressure off rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson.
