Following the Twitter account of former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel has turned into quite a roller coaster ride of late.
Manziel recently shared conflicting views of the XFL, which has of course been linked to the former Heisman winner on many occasions.
First, he shared bitter feelings about the XFL, which hinted earlier this year that he wasn’t good enough. Then, he made it clear that he wasn’t interested in playing for a league that’s just “going to fold,” which was a reference to his time spent in the AAF last year.
Completely going the other way, seemingly out of the blue, Manziel sent a message saying he wanted to play in the XFL before deleting his Twitter account on Friday.
On Saturday, the account was back up, and Manziel sent out a couple more messages that seem to illustrate further that he’s got some big-time mixed feelings.
Now, “these days” is certainly not until the end of time. But it’s been #ComebackSZN for Manziel for a few years, and it wasn’t that long ago that he was campaigning hard to get back into the NFL.
The hard truth, perhaps, is that the game has passed him by.
