Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade’s 2018-19 season represented somewhat of a coronation for the future Hall of Famer. At every stop on the road, he was greeted with tributes and jersey swapping.

After all, Wade had announced prior to the season that he was going to retire after winning three NBA titles during a brilliant career.

That could now change. If the Miami Heat are able to land Jimmy Butler in a sign-and-trade with the Philadelphia 76ers, Wade could very well end his short-lived retirement.

There’s no concrete reports suggesting this. Rather, it’s all about reading between the lines.

Wade’s friendship with Butler would matter little if the former remains in retirement. The 13-time All-Star also made it clear that he would only come out of retirement to play for the Heat.

Does this mean Wade is considering coming out of retirement? We’re not too sure. But it does seem to be a distinct possibility.

Of course, this could be dependent on Miami landing Butler in a sign-and-trade. There’s mutual interest on that front with the Houston Rockets also being a possibility.
