Thursday evening marked the final time that best buds and future Hall of Famers Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade will do battle on the NBA hardwood.

Going up against one another in the Association since all the way back in 2006, Thursday’s outing between the Houston Rockets and Miami Heat was bittersweet for both men. In fact, Paul was seen entering the Toyota Center in Houston with both himself and his son wearing Wade gear (watch here).

After the game, Paul and Wade took to center court to exchange jerseys for the final time. It really was an emotional scene.

Sure this game was defined by Rockets guard James Harden netting 58 points in a Houston win. But it’s about a whole heck of a lot more than that. It’s about brotherhood and friendship. It’s about family.

As Wade continues his farewell tour of the NBA, it’s moments like these that remind us just how well respected he is among his fellow players. Amazing stuff.
